A T.M.Revolution fanzine created to celebrate his 30th anniversary on May 13th, 2026.

T.M.Revolution is the solo project of Takanori Nishikawa, established on May 13th, 1996. All music is composed by Daisuke Asakura (who also originally produced the project), and the majority of the lyrics are written by Akio Inoue.

This 30-page zine reflects on TMR's career through the lens of the Fool's Journey. Each of the 22 cards in the Major Arcana is illustrated in ink and coloured pencil, and accompanied by a short essay. (Plus a bonus "Minor Arcana" at the end!)

I hope that this fanzine might serve as an introduction to his music, or a fun read for anyone already familiar with his work. Recommended for anyone who likes catchy j-pop, synthesizers or vibrato 🧡

A physical 'pre-debut' version of this zine was released in April 2026, and the digital version is available here as a free download.

Language

The fanzine is written in English, with occasional sections of text in Japanese (e.g. song titles, quotations from lyrics). Where it was logical to do so, I've provided romaji directly after Japanese text, or explained the meaning/pronunciation within the accompanying section of text. (There are also a few 'easter eggs' in there if you're familiar with TMR's work in Japanese, but the zine is comprehensible without these 😊)

For song titles, there are also some cases where the English pronunciation is already indicated in the title, or the title is already predominantly in English. If I haven't provided romaji for part of a song title, assume that one of these reasons applies.

The primary language of the PDF is set to English. Any sections of text printed in Japanese have the language property set to Japanese. Note that if using a screen reader, Japanese text may not be announced if your screen reader is not configured to support this (e.g. if using a speech synthesizer without support for Japanese, or automatic language switching is not enabled, etc.).
